So given the time of year it is, this is kind of a predictable blog to be making except...
My decision to get healthy started to formulate a few weeks ago when I was in the toilet of a local shopping centre crying, then a week later a mishap when I was getting waxed. Yesterday I joined a gym (my start date is next Wednesday, 7th Jan because that's when the kiddlios go back to daycare), today I bought a pedometre and ready, set let's do this!
Now, we're are we at? Firstly, I have just discovered I weigh in at a not so pleasantly plump 104.6kg... In general I'm pretty happy with having curves but I'm not happy hitting the hundreds, my aim is to get to 80 (yes, I do know that my bmi and age and blah blah means I should be 60 something but I don't care).
This is how I realised things HAVE to be tended to (after all, I'm a single mum and my babies have no one but me). A few weeks back I went to the toilet in the parents room, that particular toilet had floor to ceiling mirrors - not overly pleasant to begin with. As I stood up to pull my jeans up I noticed that I have no longer got knees, they have been absorbed by the fat. There's just no definition at all. I burst into tears (the mass of emotions coincided with an influx of hormones from the merina I had put in earlier this year). I felt quite tender with this issue but then...
I like to get Brazilian waxes (a mishap with a razor earlier in the year led to a near circumcision and I've been waxing ever since) but could not afford them for a little while so skipped a couple. Two weeks ago I went and had one done. The delightful waxer at one point asked me to lift my belly flap :( I have never been asked this before and my emotions went between embarrassment, amusement and horror. Something MUST be done. I put a post on Facebook asking for the best place to go, contacted them and they told me right now they have a deal of 90 days for $90 and we made an appointment for an assessment.
Now let's get to know a few things 1) I'm super duper lazy but I don't like wasting money so I'll do it 2) I do not intend on changing the food I eat but I will negotiate with the fizzy drink and the energy drink 3) I'm bloody determined.
So... Here we go!
